  • Flat feet

Hi everyone, my 8.5 year old dd has flat feet like her dad. Do any of you know the recommendation for when to start interventions like orthotics? Do they still recommend PT these days? I plan on asking her pediatrician at her next well-child appointment, but it’s not until September. Dh says he’ll ask when he works with one of the orthopedic surgeons next, but I thought I’d see if any of you have kids with fallen arches. Thanks!

My daughter pronates. I don’t know if that’s similar to flat feet, but our PT recommended these.

Thanks! What made you see a PT? Did you originally ask her pediatrician about it or was the pediatrician the first to notice?

She qualified for a PT because she was well over 1 and not walking. She may have started walking by the time the PT started but she needed it for several months because she was so behind.
