I bought one on super sale a couple weeks ago. I am intimidated to try it.

We mostly use it for steel cut oatmeal. Sometimes carnitas. I would love more recipes.

I did beef stew in it tonight - mostly just modified my slow cooker recipe.

In saute mode, brown a couple of pounds of stew beef with salt, pepper, and thyme.
Add a mini bottle of red wine, a pack of french onion soup mix, and an onion, quartered, then cook on manual high pressure for 30 minutes.
Quick release pressure, then add in a bag of baby carrots and a bag of baby potatoes (gold or red), and cook on manual high pressure for 10 minutes.

Took about an hour total, maybe less!

          That sounds really, really good.

So, I'm going to out myself as a weenie, but is there a risk of it exploding or something?

Nope - that's the nice thing about the electric one. Or, at least from my experience using it for the first time tonight, it's pretty dummy proof.

Can I just say that the title of this thread made me think of "other pot" I was thinking WTH ALOY, what ARE you cooking up?

Anyway, carry on. Don't have one. Is it like a crockpot but one that can cook things faster...like a pressure cooker?
Finally - we are finished with training! Hello real world!!

I think it's an electric pressure cooker and a slow cooker in one. Maybe with some other appliance functions.

So not what I thought this thread would be about.

I figured it was some sort of deliver-to-door marijuana service...

                    Clueless.

I believe that service is only available at our Colorado commune. 😜

Wouldn't it be ready-to-rehydrate crystals, like instant coffee?

There's a cult following with this product and my old workout crew in Texas.
We own one, but I never use it -- it's DHs "stew toy". 😄
