    • Of course I woke up sick too. Debating whether I should cancel my dentist appointment, for the second time, when it's taken months to get this appointment. If I do, I'm going to go see a different dentist. I like this one because I saw her when I lived here before, and I trust her, but I need the last appointment of the day since she's 45 minutes away where my parents live, and those are hard to get.

        • My admin assistant is retiring at the end of the month. Sad and a little nervous about what I will do without her. It does make it a little easier to go work someplace else after my leave is up.

JFC. I heart my kid, but I sometimes wonder how she'll function away from home.

She fucked up and entered the wrong SSN on her FAFSA and her college app. School needs a copy of her card to correct the problem. No worries. Or, it wouldn't be if that wasn't the one and only piece of important paperwork to be misplaced during the clusterfuck that happened when we were trying to prepare for evacuations due to the fires this summer. After a 5-hour round trip to the nearest SSA office, we're still a no go for ordering her a new card because she only had a temp ID/license, not the permanent one yet.

After getting back home, she kept dragging her feet about calling the school to see what the ramifications are if she has to wait 2 weeks or her new card to arrive and to see if her real SSN was somewhere on their system. We had to go over the convo 6 times and she still had to get me involved (with a one-time waiver so the school could speak to me about her financial information). After a short convo with the very nice peeps in the financial services department, I had everything settled. $50 late fee, but no dropped classes. We're cool.

                    Good grief.

N didn't nap and DH simply wasn't interested in accompanying me to the park to snap a few decent pics of our children. I could have called the outcome but was too stubborn not to go. I'm sure the other families present enjoyed the show.

Lambie is just about over the cold she had all weekend. She's given it to me. If she was feeling as miserable as I am, then I've got the most pleasant tempered baby ever. Amazing considering how irritable I was while pregnant with her.

                          • My phone qualifies for a free battery replacement for Apple, so I made an appointment with the Genius Bar at our local Apple store and specified "battery replacement" when I made the appointment. Rearranged my afternoon to make it on time and took an hour and a half out of my day only to be told that "oh, sorry, we ran out of batteries for the day!"

Now maybe it's just me, but it seems like if you have a customer who made an appointment four days in advance to HAVE A BATTERY REPLACED, you might think to save a battery for them. They can do this. I know they can, because they told me they'd do it for me. Tomorrow (and of course I'm on call and can't be without my phone or tied down anywhere). And maybe I could understand if they thought that perhaps I don't need a replacement and that I'm just an iIdiot and they wanted to run some tests or check out my phone first before determining what I needed, but they didn't do a single thing except get the serial number off of it.

I'm so annoyed with them right now!
